it is exactly after 100 years of oppression and subjugation that we have finally reached this point - the point where women no longer feel the need to rush rush rush to get married. before they were not people. the were just objects to be married off. this forward is saying that as a woman do not settle just to have a guy. it is empowering and trying to show that women must know their worth.
about your objections:
1)the last line of the forward states: wait for "the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree." the point of this forward is not that women are like objects (apples) waiting to be picked. it is actually saying that they must make someone work to get them. it is treating women as very valuable commodities, rather than mere objects. it's saying "wait for someone who will work hard for you because he will realize that you are worth the effort." it is telling woman you are worth it - you are worth someone making an effort for you.
2)the waiting part means don't settle for someone who doesn't deserve you. do not rush and bring yourself down just so you have somebody. do not go with just anybody, just to be in a relationship. rather wait for the person who truly understands and believes that you are worth it.
secondly "the finer u are the higher ur price is" - this i think is true. this is the case in everything. obviously the better something is, the more it is worth. i mean do you not agree? do you think that, for example, a clock that works well and a broken clock are worth the same price? would YOU pay just as much for a broken one?
about equality of creation: i believe God has created ALL people with the same unlimited amount of potentials - but the reason we are different is that we choose to actualize different potentials. i believe that the greatest way i can show reverence and appreciation towards God is to try to actualize as many of my potentials as i can. this is the best way i know how to be religious - to try to become the best creation i can be (i.e. God has made me a human, so i must try to become the most human that i can be to show my appreciation and my love). and i do believe the more people actualize their potentials the more refined they become (the more human). so yes, even though all people are created/born equal, over time some people become more refined than others. refinement is worth a higher price (just like a diamond which is worth much more after it is no longer buried in the stone).
those apples at the top are too proud, they prefer to be at the top of the tree, out of reach of the man, not like those that are humble enough that they fall down to earth, where they have come from at first place, and after all those apples will be either eaten by the worm of the tree, or when they fall down, they are too old and spoiled that not many man would be interested in picking them up.
after all, you apples are you created to be eaten. :D
